PROMETHEUSTRAINING CAMPS

Phu Quoc

Pickleball on an island, in two tracks. Foundation builds the game from the ground up; Accelerated breaks a 2.5 plateau. Three days for 2.0–3.0 players: 12 coached hours at 4:1, with a team lunch, a team dinner, camp swag and an outdoor island activity built in. Dates are set around your group. You leave understanding the game more deeply, and playing at a higher level.

3 days 12 coached hours Island activity included

What it is

Three days on Phu Quoc that teach you how pickleball actually works, not just what to copy. Two tracks: Foundation starts from first principles — how the ball bounces and spins off your paddle, why your grip changes the shot, how your feet set up everything else — then builds your strokes on top, so when a shot goes wrong you know why and how to fix it. Accelerated is for players who rally comfortably but have plateaued around 2.5: the same mechanics, aimed at the 3.0 standard — building a point, the third-shot drop, dinks that hold, resets. Twelve coached hours at 4:1 — a one-hour classroom session on each of the first two days and 10 hours on court — on the same assessment-led arc as our other camps: assessed on day one, built at volume on day two, tested under live-ball pressure, closed out with a written plan you take home. And the island is part of the weekend: a team lunch to kick off, a half-day outdoor activity on the second afternoon, and a team dinner to close it out.

Who it is for

Foundation: new or self-taught players, roughly 2.0–2.5, who have never had the foundation explained. Accelerated: players who rally comfortably but have plateaued around 2.5 and want the 3.0 standard. A DUPR rating helps but isn't required; the day-one assessment sets the plan for where you're starting from, and you pick your track in a conversation with a coach. For players who want to understand the game rather than memorise it, somewhere worth the flight. We recommend arriving the day before so you start day one rested.

How it runs

  • Classroom, one hour on days 1–2 — ball bounce and spin, grip variations, rules and scoring
  • Footwork — efficient and stable, so you're set before you hit
  • Foundational strokes — serve, return, drop, dink, drive and volley, built on those mechanics
  • Kitchen-line fundamentals — getting there, holding it, and what to do once you're there
  • Doubles tactics for the first five shots — how a point is built from the serve to the net
  • Accelerated track — the same days aimed at the 3.0 standard: building points, third-shot drop, resets
